Andrew Root BSc, DpodM, MChs, SRCh

Qualifying at the London Foot Hospital, Andrew’s work is to biomechanically assess positions of joints, of the feet, ankles, knees and hips in relation to find the best positions to stand, walk and move, for each individual person. Every person is different and will compensate within joints differently, for the movements, activities, occupations and forces we place upon our bodies.

Andrew Root’s vast experience in biomechanics gives him a great insight into what to look for and how to assess the most efficient position to hold the feet, take plaster bandage moulds or scan the feet to then manufacture the orthotics in-house.

The materials and machines used are the same as the ones he used when teaching the manufacturing of Orthotics at the London Foot Hospital. It is important to know properly manufactured orthotics hold the feet in the best position to resolve and prevent injuries.
